Local Jungle Guide

My name is Jonni SPD, founder of Jhonyjungle Trekking. I am an experienced local guide who has spent 23 years organizing safety-first, educational, and sustainable jungle tours in Sumatra's Gunung Leuser National Park.

My mission is simple: to share the beauty of my rainforest home with visitors from all over the world while supporting local conservation and empowering the community.

Through our custom tours, we have built highly professional, licensed guide networks in the park’s two legendary wilderness locations: the pristine wilderness of Ketambe and the wildlife-dense sanctuary of Bukit Lawang.

"Great 3 day trek"

"I did in Dec 2019 a 3 day trek with jhony and his guide hermann. They did a great job. We first hiked into the jungle and camped on a riverside. The food was amazing, Jhony cooked for us for dinner a wonderful buffet in the middle of the jungle. We also saw some orang utans and other monkeys. I can absolutely recommend this guy."

"3 day jungle trek"

"we took 3 day (2 nights) jungle trek and we were very satisfied. We saw a lot of animals, had amazing time at waterfalls, hot springs and simply enjoyed those quiet places. I recommend Jhony jungle trekking, they are very skilled and know forest like nobody else. And by the way, food they prepared for us, was so delicious!!"
